The Basics of Binocular Numbers

When you by binoculars, you will see a set of numbers. The first number represents the magnification level of the binoculars whereas the second number is the lens size. Magnification is the measurement of how many times bigger an object will appear through the binoculars. Before you rush to buy the binoculars which have the largest magnification, you need to consider what you will be viewing. Binoculars with very high magnifications are best for still objects because, with moving objects, you will get some shakiness from your hands. For bird watching, the recommended magnification is 7 or 8x.

An Italian in Sweden

Alessandro Serio is an Italian who moved to Sweden to work and told the BBC of his experiences working abroad. Having lived in a variety of countries beforehand spanning Europe and Africa, he was surprised to find he did not enjoy Sweden as much as he had anticipated. Serio told the BBC, “My first impression was what I was expecting it to be. Everyone was blond and good looking and it was easy to get a job. The Daisy

The daisy derives its name from the Anglo-Saxon “daes eage” which translates to “day’s eye”, referring to the fact that the flower open and closes with the sun. The daisy is believed to originate from a Druid who cared for pastures, forests, and meadows. Roman myth has it that the nymph Belides caught the eye of Vertumnus, the god of the orchards, whilst she was dancing at the edge of the forest. Not wanting his attention, Belides transformed herself into the flower bellis, the Latin name for the daisy.

Chewing Gum

Chewing gum is traditionally made from chicle which is a natural latex product or it is made from synthetic rubber which is known as polyisobutylene.
